Bloom where you are planted
In the early 80’s my wife, Dianne, was invited to speak at a Women-A-Glow meeting. I tagged along to help care for our newborn son and support her. As she preached, I clearly felt the Holy Spirit saying, “This is her calling!” God had clearly planted the seed of preaching within her, her relationship with the Holy Spirit had continued to nourish this gift, and now… Di was blossoming into a truly anointed preacher and speaker. Afterwards, I encouraged her to pursue her gifting, and the rest is history.
Nearly 40 years later, it’s easy to see how that initial “bloom” has not only flourished but multiplied. Dianne’s willingness to be used by God in this area has opened up an opportunity for many women to follow. It’s her joy and mine to empower and release these women into their destiny. I’ve always been able to see the gift and calling in people’s lives and encourage them to step into it. I believe that one of the greatest opportunities we have as a church is to not just celebrate but activate the God-given call on our amazing women.
The Vineyard Church of Central Illinois, in partnership with our More Love More Power Conference Team, will be hosting a women’s conference entitled BLOOM.
The conference will be held June 1-3, 2017 here at the Urbana Campus (1500 N Lincoln Ave. Urbana, IL 61801). The conference is open to women of any age, calling, or passion.
This conference is an opportunity for women in all spheres of life to gather together for a weekend of building relationships with each other and the Holy Spirit. No matter where you find yourself in life, God’s heart is for you to partner with Him in the journey. Bearing fruit always starts with a blossom. I believe it is our Father’s greatest delight to empower women to bloom in this season and to share that fruit with the people around them.

She is married with 2 children and has lots of comical wisdom on these subjects. According to Melissa, her other loves are “eating movie popcorn and telling her friends what to do with their hair.”
The worship will be led by 3 sisters who are also members of the VWorship Community. Raised in a family called to full-time ministry, Carolyn, Amy and Emily spent their growing-up years traveling to prisons and churches across the country, declaring the good news of the gospel through music. Believing that this was a continued call on their lives, each of them is actively involved in worship ministry here at The Vineyard Church of Central IL.
All details about the conference can be found on the More Love More Power website. We recommend registering now so you can secure your spot!
Our goal and prayer for this conference is that all participants would recognize the Holy Spirit’s empowerment within them to bloom in the season they are in. Come expecting to both receive and be encouraged by others.Thank you for being our friends and partners.
